Khao San Road is an experience on its own - loud, chaotic, and so much fun. The street food alone is worth the trip. Pad kra pao from a random sidewalk stall beat any restaurant meal I've had back home. The city moves fast but somehow it all just works.
The temples here are next level
Wat Pho blew me away - the reclining Buddha is massive and the detail on everything is just insane. Never been anywhere quite like it. The tuk-tuk rides between sites are a bit wild but honestly part of the fun. So much to see and it never felt overwhelming.
Perfect city for food lovers
I came mostly to eat and Bangkok did not disappoint. Som tam, mango sticky rice, boat noodles - all incredible and ridiculously cheap. The Or Tor Kor market near Chatuchak is a must if you want fresh, quality Thai food without the tourist markup. Genuinely one of the best food cities I've visited.
Shopping paradise - seriously
MBK Center and Chatuchak Weekend Market kept me busy for days. Chatuchak especially is massive - clothes, antiques, plants, street food, all in one place. Bargaining is expected and actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Great value for money compared to back home.
Loved every bit of it
Bangkok has so much going on - rooftop bars, floating markets, temples, night markets. The Chao Phraya river at night looks stunning with all the lights. Getting around on the BTS Skytrain is easy and cheap. It's a city that keeps surprising you no matter where you wander.
Great city break, better than I expected
First time in Bangkok and I was a bit nervous about the heat and crowds. Turned out fine - just go early in the mornings and take it slow midday. The Grand Palace is absolutely worth seeing despite the queues. People here are warm and patient, even when you mess up the local customs a little.
